This is the bridge Billingshurst between Wisborough on the A272 to which we would go on crocodile walks on some afternoons. The most dramatic time was around Easter one year when the huge floods hit after a long snowy winter and the thundering torrent raged under the bridge (the bridge then was an older one which had metal railings). Entire large trees had been uprooted and flung downstream.
The dip in the road
some way after the bridge towards Wisborough.
We travelled
from Horsham by bus (as I used to do daily during my last term) and the route
& countryside seemed almost identical to me from Slinfold onwards..
