THIS PAGE WAS ORIGINALLY WRITTEN YEARS BEFORE SAI BABA'S DEATH DATE (24/4/2011). Since the original text (below) was posted, the following revealing statement by Sathya Sai Baba was made. Ther attitude of devotees after this death from 7 years to over a decade before he had variously stated that he would die was total denial and disbelief, as is seen in the following :-
However, the evidence showing the complete falsity of Sathya Sai Baba's wild prophesies about his life span is fully documented and has long been in the public sphere, not least in his published discourses and other accounts in books blessed by him.
Of
Sathya Narayana Raju (later Sathya Sai Baba) it is reported by several
devotee writers that he would die at the age 95 and/or 96 (Some places
in India a person who is 95, yet is in-the 96th year, is said to be 96
years old.) On various occasions Baba has reportedly said in private that
his life would last 96 years [eg by S. Balu, 'Living Divinity' London:
Sawbridge Enterprises, 1981, p. 29] which age he finally confirmed in
a public discourse in 2000. Yet, contradictorily, in two early discourses in
1960 and 1961 respectively, he gave the length of his remaining life as
58 and 59 years (see scans below). This adds up to a life-span
of only either 92 or 93 years!
It has been on-line for years by now, but at last its question 'how long' can be answered definitively! Sathya Sai Baba lasted only until his 85th year (some reckon this as age 85, more normally only as 84) and NOT until into his 90s! He is on record as having predicted four different times of death, all in his 90s! (see scans from his discourses etc. below)
Here are scans of documented prediction of his lifespan by Sathya Sai Baba:-
Do the arithmetic and see that even lunar years will not solve his wrongly predicted remaining number of years made when he was nearly 40 years old!
Will Sathya Sai Baba die on his own birthday?
The Norwegian journalist, Thorbjørn Færøvik, who visited Prashanthi Nilayam in 1998, reported the following statement from the organizer of the World Conference on the Future of Humanity:-
"He's going to die on his 95-year anniversary," said Dr. A. Murthi, who sitting in the organizing committee for the World Conference and is a sworn devotee of Sai Baba.
- How can Sai Baba know?
- Because he is the son of God. Son of God knows everything.
- It will say that Sai Baba has a good 20 years left to live?
- Exactly. And during these 20 years we must solve a series of problems.
- What?
- We need to create complete peace and harmony"
" from 'India, stevnemøte med skjebnen' by Thorbjørn Færøvik. J.W. Cappelans Forlag. 1999)
Defnitive proof that he also said he would live until 96 years came in 2003 in his officially-authorised journal Sanathana Sarathi and Sathya Sai Speaks,:-
He also stated: "As a matter of fact, there is no trace of ill-health in Me. l am always healthy. Not only today, till 96 years I will be like this. I can do whatever
I want." 05/10/2003, Vijayadashami, Prashanthi Nilayam - see Sathya Sai Speaks Vol 36. Chapter 14 (or view scan oof source here)
NOTE PARTICULARLY SAI BABA'S ASSERTION:"My Word will never fail..."
Which age was it to be? Ninety-two, Ninety-three, Ninety-four or Ninety-six? Or whenever he sees fit? It is interesting too that no Indian astrologer who has made predictions about Sathya Sai Baba has given the date of his death... though most of them they do this with great confidence for anyone who wants! So what about when Sai Baba's prophecies are so self-contradictory? Some of his words on that a certain to fail. Many of his words have already failed, as documented profusely on this website.
History is replete with self-proclaimed God Emperors, Divine Avatars, World Saviours, reborn Christs... right up to the present day. Millions still believe that this or that person is wholly and fully God. The various Indian modern avatars or divine saviours include Ramakrishna, Meher Baba and any number of other claimants, each having more or less success or failure. In India there are always a surprising number of persons claiming to be avatars... still today. Any number of 'Divinities' - whether God-Kings, Pharaohs, Caesars and so on, have come and gone but still there are many claimants to Divinity with multi-million followings.
Add to the above the teaching of Sathya Sai Baba and others that no one can ever aspire to be anything better than servants of the Lord himself (i.e. Sai Baba!) and to work for him selflessly in total obedience to his all-powerful will. This is a teaching that allows for the complete manipulation of persons to do the will of the guru. No more clever way of taking away people's freedom - making them censor themselves entirely and give up all autonomy and all rights - has ever been devised. It is the subtlest of means of gaining power to protect his misdeeds and abuses.
Countless millions of people have, through the ages, grovelled and kowtowed to personages they imagined to be either God in person, or the highest representative of Divinity. One small example, little known nowadays: the Mahdi in Sudan whose followers - imagining themselves invulnerable to Maxim guns - were mown down by the British at Omduran.
Any number of 'Divinities' - whether God-Kings, Pharaohs, Caesars and so on, have come and gone. Claimants to Divinity with multi-million followings are dispersed into the mists of time and almost forgotten but to historians.
We can confidently await the further fall of the highly questionable Sathya Sai Baba, whose adharmic (i.e. 'unrighteous') activities have already been exposed to the world. His claims will not hold, he will not lift mountain ranges or fly through the air. He will not live to be 96 (he has himself said in published discourses that he would live until, age 93, but some fool devotee author got it wrong and wrote 96 and this figure was the one that stuck!). At whatever age he departs this earth, the believers, having been deluded by his many deceptions, including his psychic powers (none of which are not found elsewhere, even today), will find a rationalisation for it, as they do for everything else.
The state of his health is a closely-guarded secret, though his debilities can be seen in that he cannot walk without support and then only a few yards. Were it to be known, for example, that he suffers from osteoarthritis, the consequences for many followers would be further to doubt his claims of perfect health as a concomitant of his alleged divinity, purity, patience and perseverance (which he holds are a guarantee of perfect health!). The large and protective social environment built up around him and his ashrams - which are dependent on the flow of donations - has already suffered consequences as his reputation has sunk. For the poor believers, it will be another of his 'lessons', another 'test of faith' doubtless. Probably only completely credulous 'blind faith true believers' or badly misinformed and deluded followers are now active in supporting him and covering up his many misdeeds, bogus claims, fraudulent 'materializations' and ignorant proclamations and unworldly and misinforming 'teachings'.

THE 'LUNAR AGE' OF SATHYA SAI BABA AS CONCOCTED IN A VAIN ATTEMPT TO SAVE HIS FAILED PREDICTIONS OF HIS AGE
The Sathya Sai Organisation - both centrally and in various countries - claim that he calculated his lifespan in lunar years, not solar (calendar) years. They juggle with various figures and lunar month lengths and try to get his age up to over 90, but none of the calculations agree with their assumption of lunar years. The concept of a 'lunar year' is actually not valid at all in astronomical terms, because a year is by definition the time it takes for the earth to circumnambulate the sun. But 12 lunar months never amounts to a year... so the concept is a non-starter for calculating years at all. But not for Hindu shastris who operate with their own obscure and contorted ideas. They are called in trying to rationalize away the hard fact that Sathya Sai Baba lived for only solar/calendar 84 years, and that he always reckoned in calendar years in every documented word (despite desperate claims that he told other things in private!). Some of the many comments about this 'lunacy' of denial on the Internet are shown in the inset scanned material. See a yet more detailed analysis Sathya Sai Baba 96 years old at death? Lunar year confusions
According to the sathyasai.org website Sathya Sai Baba lived for 30,833 days. This is only a correct calculation (correct IF he was actually born on 23 Nov. 1926, which is hotly disputed - since his registered date in his school record is 3 years LATER!).
The lunar month averages 27.21 days (by the very shortest or 'draconic' reckoning which the sathyasai.org website chose for obvious reasons). The number of days per lunar year is 27.21 times 12 = 326.52 (days per annum) So 30,833 days divided by 326 days per year is equal to 94.56 lunar years.
This exceeds the minimum requirement of 93 years, which he twice predicted in separate discourses. Nor does it reach 96 years, which he also stated was the age he would reach - as several commentators agreed he has stated (though he also stated at least 3 other ages for himself). However one twists and turns it, the calculations do not fit the predictionof 96 years, nor that of 93. It would fit with the lifespan Haraldsson reported Sai Baba stated - 94 years, even though that was worked out at year 2020 - nor the other ages he predicted.
From 9 Sept 1960 (when Sai Baba was 43 calendar years old), plus 59 years = 2019 AD. He lived until age 84 by normal calendar reckoning, dying in 2011. Eight years short on calendar reckoning (which he always used in public, despite concocted, undocumented rumours that he once or twice did not).
Taken together, all the huge and minor discrepancies, the several predictions years apart, along with the most likely false birth date of Sai Baba, plus the unlikelihood that he gave dates that were not calendar (but some variety of the several Hindu lunar variants), one cannot possibly claim that he died when he said he would.
That Sathya Sai Baba always reckoned in normal calendar years is proven by the following quotations he made:-
"I will be in this mortal form for 59 years more and I shall certainly achieve the purpose of this avatar, do not doubt it."
(Discourse 29.09.1960)
[1960 + 59 = 2019]
"I shall be in this body for 58 years more, I have assured you of this already."
(Discourse 21.10.1961)
[1961 + 58 = 2019]
——————————————————————————————–
"As the world goes, at the age of 60, the physique becomes weak and the mind loses its alertness. But I skip along as fresh and active as ever."
(Discourse 23.11.1985)
[1985 - 1926 = 59]
"The advent (of this avatar) took place 64 years ago."
(Discourse 23.11.1990)
[1990 - 1926 = 64]
"This body is now 67 years."
(Discourse 3.07.1993)
[1993 - 1926 = 67]
"The body (of Swami) will enter its 70th year on 23rd."
(Discourse 17.11.1995)
[1995 - 1926 = 69]
"I am 73 years. My legs, hands, eyes are in perfect condition."
(Discourse 24.11.1998)
[1998 - 1926 = 72]
"Today marks the 75th year of the Advent of this
body."
(Discourse 23.11.2000)
[2000 - 1926 = 74]
————————————————————————————————-
As officially reported, Sathya Sai Baba passed away on 24th April 2011.
[2011 - 1926 = 85]
However much one may try to distort or remove these facts, the lunar year theory will not add up in any shape or form.
See a well-informed (rather inflamed) comment posted by GLC on carious newspaper comment columns:-
NOTE! Further upsetting the entire apple cart of the ‘lunar year’ calculations is the quite widely publicised wishes of Sathya Sai Baba to leave his body “early”, that is, not at any of the times he had predicted previously:-
One of my Indian informants wrote to me on 21st April:- "There are very strong , but unofficial and unconfirmed reports that Sai Baba died at 3.30pm yesterday India time ( wednesday…20th April )…most tv channels are reporting Sai Baba as “extremely critical”, and as ” all organs failed” and today morning’s medical bulletin has dropped the word “stable” and says “very critical”. What my source did say is that there are a few strong indicators…4000 policemen and armed personnel deployed since yesterday evening in and around Puttaparthi, senior SB trust members Indulal Shah and PN Bhagavati rushed to Puttaparthi last evening, and the sb trust has asked 1000 seva dal volunteers to immediately rush to Puttaparthi…seemingly indicating something final has happened. I also heard whispers that if at all possible, the SB trust would like to announce the event tomorrow as its Good Friday….so that the Jesus connect can be made and western devotees milked even further by turning PN into a world shrine…..meanwhile internal trust member squabbles are still at their peak…regarding who gets what, which could also be a reason an official announcement has not been made yet." It did not come to pass like that, they waited until Easter Sunday, when Christ was supposed to have ascended! It was also much easier to plan for all the security arrangements and helicopter travel etc. for the visiting dignitaries! |
